Learn more about each of the four leaders:

Daniel Giordano, PT, DPT, CSCS
Dr. Dan Giordano is an industry-leading physical therapist and thought leader, specializing in musculoskeletal health for diverse populations. As a thought leader in musculoskeletal healthcare, his nationally recognized clinics also focus on women’s health, youth athletes, and those of all ages. His expertise lies in promoting holistic wellness through cutting-edge practices and advancements.

Dr. Giordano expressed excitement about joining Therabody’s Scientific Advisory Board, stating, “I am passionate about promoting health and wellness through evidence-based practices." He views this opportunity as a chance to bridge his clinical expertise with Therabody’s innovative health and wellness solutions. Giordano believes that collaborating with industry leaders and contributing to product development will empower individuals to take control of their well-being, aligning with his commitment to healthcare innovation. Furthermore, he emphasizes the importance of integrating scientific advancements into clinical practice, facilitating the adoption of new approaches to improve patient outcomes and advance the entire physical therapy field.

Neera Nathan, MD, MSHS
Dr. Nathan is a Harvard-trained medical and cosmetic dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon. She has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications, reviews, and book chapters to date and has been featured in the New York Times, HuffPost, Forbes,  Marie Claire, ABC News, and the Harvard Health Blog. Dr. Nathan splits her time between private practice, where she takes a patient-centric approach, and academia at Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins University.

In joining Therabody’s Scientific Advisory Board, Dr. Nathan commends the company’s strong commitment to science, stating, “With a background as a research investigator, I very much value when brands spend the significant amount of resources and time it takes to actually study the claims they’re putting out. It’s clear that Therabody shares that philosophy."

Additionally, Dr. Nathan appreciates Therabody’s holistic approach to wellness, which aligns with her belief in addressing whole-body health. “Therabody takes a holistic approach to wellness — and that’s something that I really take seriously when caring for my patients. There’s no magic bullet. There’s no magic fix. You really need to be looking at everything. You have to look at how you’re treating your body. You have to look at sleep. You have to look at how you’re eating, how you’re nourishing yourself. And of course, what you’re actually putting on your skin and hair." She believes that the future of the field lies in safe, evidence-based at-home devices for skin rejuvenation.

Pamela Peeke, MD, MPH, FACP, FACSM
Dr. Pamela Peeke is a renowned physician, scientist, athlete, and thought leader in lifestyle medicine and women’s health. Dr. Peeke has used her scientific expertise to expand the knowledge and understanding of women’s health and longevity, including ailments common to women like osteoporosis, vasomotor symptoms, and sleep dysfunction.

In joining Therabody’s Scientific Advisory Board, Dr. Peeke expresses her deep interest in the role of innovative technology and its applications to health and wellness. With a significant background in women’s health, Dr. Peeke notes how technology can be tailored to meet women’s needs. “Honor women’s unique body requirements. Our knees are more vulnerable to injury, for example. Painful menstrual cycles can be problematic in life and in physical activity. Technology can play critical roles in supporting all of these facets of a woman’s journey."

She also praises Therabody’s science-backed technology that addresses recovery, which she believes is crucial for sustaining healthy athletic performance and decreasing injury risk as we age. “If we’re asking people to become more active, then we need to provide excellent recovery tools to sustain healthy athletic performance and decrease injury. As a clinical investigator and scientist, I look forward to working with the science and innovation teams to generate more innovation in this critical sector."

Dr. Peeke is looking forward to merging science and technology to promote health. “Technology plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing health and wellness. The most exciting part of science is extracting the key assets of discovery and designing technology to benefit people. It is such a joyful moment when a scientist can see that innovative technology has improved someone’s quality of life. That’s what we in science live for."

Robin Thorpe, PhD
Dr. Robin Thorpe is a sports performance scientist, coach, and industry-leading researcher in exercise performance and recovery. He has a proven track record in sports performance for some of the largest sports organizations in the world, spanning the English Premier League, NBA, MLB, NFL, MLS, and more. Having published original articles relating to athlete stress, fatigue, and recovery, he has developed innovative methods and techniques to accelerate recovery and improve athletic performance.

Dr. Thorpe has developed innovative approaches to both track and accelerate recovery, and in turn, improve athletic performance. In joining Therabody’s Scientific Advisory Board, he notes, “There seems to be an authentic alignment and synergy between where Therabody is going in this space and my research interests and how I work with athletes." Dr. Thorpe’s work over the past 16 years has centered on understanding if athletes require recovery, administering recovery interventions from competition and training, as well as finding innovative ways to accelerate those recovery factors, aligning with Therabody’s mission.

Working with professional athletes who must continue to recover quickly as competition level increases (from the speed of a game and the forces required to execute certain movements), Dr. Thorpe is well-versed in how to help athletes recover as quickly as possible to repeat these types of efforts and competition sequences. Many of these strategies also apply to the general population of active people who want to perform well and wake up feeling energized throughout the day. “Thinking about the human body and trying to be, again, more critical, we’re implementing various strategies to match the physiological system involved in facilitating the body back to homeostasis and recovery optimally."
