Therabody Employee Spotlight: Trevor Olson, Facilities Manager

From Customer Experience to Research and Development, a core tenet of Therabody’s company culture is that the next big idea or product innovation can come from anyone at any level. Since our founder’s journey to create the first-ever Theragun to relieve his own debilitating pain, real stories and real people have always been at the heart of who we are and why we are on a mission to help everybody take control of their wellness and recovery.

So, we’re taking you behind the scenes at Therabody to highlight the real people who are helping make that mission a reality everyday — the best and brightest from around the globe.

Meet Trevor Olson, a Facilities Manager at Therabody. Trevor is located in Los Angeles, CA. Since joining Therabody, Trevor has transformed the office culture, curated events, and made the office home for many.

What is your favorite part of working at Therabody?

My favorite part about working at Therabody has been the positive public sentiment surrounding the brand when discussing my job out in the real world. For instance, individuals don’t necessarily care about my day-to-day inside the office, but when I mention that the company I work for is Therabody they are instantly intrigued because they know of the Theragun, or another line of our products. It’s always a conversation starter that encapsulates health and recovery and branches off into many tangent discussions. But it all began with mentioning the name…Therabody.

Give us a quick breakdown of your role and what you do at Therabody.

My role has evolved over the years at Therabody and I am now regarded as theFacilities Manager who oversees the daily operations surrounding the LA HQ and some of the company’s affiliate locations. I work across all departments to ensure each has the necessary components and workspace to perform their jobs at a satisfactory level. You may find me with my hardhat on doing light construction building a science lab, performing office managerial duties, or being a liaison to I.T.

If you could do someone else’s job at Therabody for a week, what would it be and why?

If I could perform someone else’s job for a week, it may be working alongside the Engineer Department in some capacity. They have a fantastic opportunity by being part of a company that is in an emerging field and doing it at the highest level. In the years to come, they will undoubtedly be able to say they helped design devices that are revolutionary and will be quite a résumé builder. Additionally, although lots of hard work goes in (especially, behind the scenes) before a big launch event, being part of the Events Team on the day/night of a launch must be rewarding to bring a product to the public and witness firsthand the sheer impact the latest tech/wellness device has on them.

It’s lunch time! What is your go-to?

Honestly, I just stumbled upon Acai Republic down the street from our LA HQ on Wilshire Boulevard the other day and it’s already becoming a routine spot. I suggest The Real Brazilian…acai, banana, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, guarana, granola, and honey.

Walk us through any secrets to success you’ve found when working from home.

My job requires me to be in-office…but, I can say that if you’re a caffeine drinker it may be wise to limit your intake of the office’s supply of Celcius lol. Try to go a week drinking coffee and then back to Celcius (all the while drinking water!). You may resolve those afternoon headaches!

Speed Round

Favorite movie or show?

TMy favorite movie would be Michael Mann’s 1995 film, Heat.

Favorite food?

Monty’s Good Burger…vegan burger joint. Better than In N Out in my humble opinion. But In N Out’s fries are superior.

Cats or dogs?

We have 3 cats and 2 dogs. A husky and an English yorkie. We are also fostering 3 kittens who were abandoned in DTLA. They are white with black and gray spots and are about 4 months old (fixed & neutered, and up-to-date on shots). They are beyond affectionate and looking to be adopted to a loving home. They are siblings and love another but two of them seem inseparable…If you want a kitten that likes to be around you 24/7 then contact me!

Favorite Therabody product?

The RecoveryAir JetBoots!

Favorite music artist or group?

I can’t say I have a solidified favorite (my scope of music and interests varies widely, but I do enjoy the composer, Thomas Newman.
