2009
After a traumatic motorcycle accident, our founder Dr. Jason Wersland searches for a solution to his debilitating pain. When nothing on the market helps, he designs a makeshift tool that works, unknowingly creating the first Theragun.
2013
As Dr. J continues to use this homemade percussion tool, he finds that at a certain depth and speed it's effective at easing the pain in his atrophying muscles. When a desperate patient in need also sees tremendous results from using it, Dr. J knows he's on to something.
2016
Countless prototypes later and almost a decade after its original conception, the Theragun G1 hits the mass market. Everyday people around the world begin to experience the breakthrough science of percussive therapy.
2017
The G2PRO, our 2nd generation Theragun, is released and puts Theragun on the map with the game-changing power needed for deep muscle treatment, and proprietary attachments designed for various areas of the body.
2019
A true milestone of innovation in the recovery space, the G3PRO launches with advanced ergonomics and a 50% quieter design. At this point, Theragun is used by 250+ professional sports teams, along with physical therapists, trainers, celebrities, and everyday people in 40+ countries.

The first-ever Theragun Reset, a 15-minute in-store relaxation experience, opens in Los Angeles. It's the first percussive therapy experience of its kind, solidifying Theragun's position as the foremost innovators in the space.
2020
The new and improved Therabody app launches alongside the 4th generation of percussive therapy devices, some of which now connect to the app directly via Bluetooth®—featuring remote speed control, personalized wellness routines, and integration with major health apps.
