From Customer Experience to Research and Development, a core tenet of Therabody’s company culture is that the next big idea or product innovation can come from anyone at any level. Since our founder’s journey to create the first-ever Theragun to relieve his own debilitating pain, real stories and real people have always been at the heart of who we are and why we are on a mission to help everybody take control of their wellness and recovery.
So, we’re taking you behind the scenes at Therabody to highlight the real people who are helping make that mission a reality everyday — the best and brightest from around the globe.
Meet Toni Borthwick, Director of National Accounts for EMEA. Toni is located just outside of London. She’s an active member in our Women’s ERG and was recently featured as a panelist for our International Women’s Day panel. Since joining in 2020, Toni has brought a positive, experienced perspective to the team, and her contributions have helped make Therabody a great place to work.
What is your favorite part of working at Therabody?
Working for a brand with a true purpose, which is to empower people around the world to live healthier lives and find ways to feel better naturally. Paired with the fact I get to work alongside so many super talented individuals, whose skills, experiences, and knowledge make it a truly inspiring place to work.
Give us a quick breakdown of your role and what you do at Therabody.
My role at Therabody is Director of National Accounts – EMEA. I lead a team across Europe managing and developing our key retail partners to deliver an outstanding consumer journey, be that online or in store. I love that the team is made up of individuals from the UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy as it gives me real insight into different cultures and ways of working.
If you could do someone else’s job at Therabody for a week, what would it be and why?
I’d like to spend a week with our product development and manufacturing team and watch the steps they take to bring our amazing products to life. Therabody is all about innovation and developing ideas and concepts, and it would be super cool to get a sneak peek into what we are working on for the future!
It’s lunch time! What is your go-to?
When we are in the London office as a team, we like to try out new places to eat. We seem to be all about the sushi and Farmer J’s at the moment.
Walk us through any secret to success you have for working from home.
Therabody really encourages you to take a break in the day, blocking out the time in your diary and being away from your desk is key. You’ll either find me walking the dog or out on my bike. Dr J., our founder, also hosts a weekly ‘Hump Day’ break, this gives us the opportunity to stop everything work related and focus on our mental wellbeing.
Favorite movie or show?
I’m partial to a bit of ‘reality’ TV, don’t judge. Loving the new series of KUWTK!
Thai or Japanese
Cats or dogs? Do you have any pets?
Dog lover, since getting my French bulldog Arnie three years ago.
Favorite Therabody product?
TheraFace PRO is the newest member of the Therabody product family and I’m already obsessed.
Favorite musical artist or group?
Too hard to choose just one….Rufus Du Sol, Tourist or Maribou State.
